First birthday present of the day...Austin's first bike! It's even small enough for his wee legs to pedal. He loves his "bee-cul" but he did NOT love his helmet.
But he was quickly reminded of why a helmut is necessary. His poor face is a wreck!
Austin also got a Thomas the Train set and train table. This is a big step for us since Thomas is apparently a cult-ish item and this is kind of his first real "boy toy". It's nice to see him playing with trains instead of pink flip flops, purses and headbands!
Madeleine had a bit of a struggle with understanding these are Austin's presents because it is HIS birthday. In her defense she did ask Austin if she could help and he said yes. After she ripped his presents open he actually told her "thank you madwin".
To celebrate, we had family and friends over for a party. The cake was fantastic. A big plug for Val Plonski who also did Austin's first birthday cake (which I still talk about). Everyone enjoyed the cake...especially Austin who demanded "cake in my mouth".
Thanks to our friends who helped us eat cake!
